About Aegiron

Aegiron is building the observability layer for Europe's critical infrastructure. Our software-defined sensor nodes enable operators to anticipate threats, identify vulnerabilities and strengthen their resilience against emerging threats. Backed by premier venture capital funds and angels.

The Role

We are looking for a versatile Software Engineer to join our core team. Threat Detection requires a massive stack, from low-level signal processing to high-level application logic. We do not expect you to be an expert in all of it.

Instead, we are looking for engineers who excel in one or two of our core domains, and we can build the role around your strengths.

Core Domains

  • Sensor Fusion & Tracking: Experience with Kalman Filters (EKF/UKF), multi-target tracking, and fusing data from asynchronous sensors (e.g., fusing Radar tracks with Camera visuals).

  • Computer Vision (CV): Object detection/classification/tracking (YOLO, OpenCV, PyTorch/TensorFlow).

  • Signal Processing (Radar/RF/Audio): Understanding raw sensor data, FFTs, DSP, or software-defined radio (SDR) concepts.

  • Machine Learning/AI: Finding meaning in multi-modal data.

  • Application & Systems Layer: Building robust backends, designing high-performance APIs, handling real-time data streams.

Core Foundation (What Everyone Needs)

  • Strong Coding Chops: Proficiency in C++/Rust & Python. You can write clean, maintainable, and efficient code and know how to improve efficiency using AI tools.

  • Mathematical Aptitude: You aren't afraid of linear algebra or statistics.

  • The "Generalist" Mindset: You are willing to fill in the gaps. If the UI needs a button fixed, you'll fix it. If the radar driver is buggy, you'll dive into the logs.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Edge Computing (running models on NVIDIA Jetson or similar).

  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

  • A background in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or aerospace.

  • Experience with Simulation (Unreal Engine 5 / Gazebo) for synthetic data training.

  • Background in cybersecurity (TPM, Secure Boot, Network Security).

  • A history of tinkering with hardware (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Drones).

Why Join Aegiron

  • Build from the ground up: Shape the technical DNA of a frontier resilience company.

  • Work with cutting-edge tools: Access to bleeding-edge simulation environments, sensing systems, and robotics platforms.

  • Equity upside: Competitive compensation and meaningful ownership in Aegiron's success.

  • Impact: Lead the team building autonomous systems that will redefine European resilience.
