Commercial Intern (m/w/d) — Berlin

Aegiron · Critical Infrastructure Observability · Berlin, on-site · Voluntary full-time internship (3–6 months)

About Aegiron

Aegiron builds the observability platform for critical infrastructure. We sell an AI-powered, multimodal sensor system — hardware plus SaaS — to operators of energy grids, data centers, and industrial sites, protecting them against sabotage, espionage, and drone threats. We're funded by premier EU VC funds and angels.

The Role

You'll work directly with the CEO and the Chief of Staff (Commercial) on the commercial engine of the company — the systems and analyses that turn a five-person startup into a Series-A-ready business serving Europe's largest TSOs. This is not a coffee-and-deck-formatting internship. You will own real workstreams end-to-end and ship work that goes in front of investors, board members, and enterprise customers.

What you'll work on

  • Series A preparation: help build and maintain the data room, financial model inputs, investor pipeline tracker, and follow-up cadence

  • Market & customer research: deep dives on TSOs, data center operators, and industrial targets across DACH, Gulf, and US — sizing, decision-makers, regulatory exposure

  • Commercial operations: set up CRM workflows, pipeline reporting, win/loss documentation, and pricing analyses

  • Investor materials: research and draft sections of board decks, quarterly updates, and investor narratives — backed by your own numbers

  • Strategic projects: support evaluation of partnership models with Securitas, market-entry analyses, and competitive intelligence on hardware-enabled SaaS comparables

  • Hiring support: help source and screen candidates for VP Sales and US GM roles

What we're looking for

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree at a top-tier German university

  • Field is open: business, economics, engineering, computer science, political science, or a quantitative discipline — what matters is analytical sharpness

  • Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken, daily working languages)

  • First exposure to high-performance environments — VC-backed startup, management consulting, investment banking, PE, or a serious research/case-competition track record

  • Strong with numbers and structured thinking. Comfortable in Excel/Sheets and with rapidly building mental models of new industries

  • Hands-on by default. You're as willing to clean a CRM as to build a market-sizing model

  • Curious about defense, energy, or critical infrastructure — but no prior domain experience required

What this role is not

  • Not sales: you don't pitch customers — but you build the infrastructure that makes sales scale

  • Not pure analysis: you own your projects from question to implementation

  • Not admin: there is no office overhead to manage. This is a strategic role

What you'll get

  • Direct exposure to a CEO building a company from pre-revenue toward a unicorn outcome in 24 months

  • A front-row seat to a Series A process — investor meetings, due diligence, financial modeling, narrative-building

  • A real apprenticeship in how a defense/infrastructure-tech company is built: regulation, hardware economics, enterprise sales, capital structure

  • Competitive internship compensation

  • A clear path to a full-time offer post-graduation for the right person — including potential VSOP participation

  • On-site work in Berlin alongside a small, senior team

Logistics

  • Format: Voluntary full-time internship (Freiwilliges Praktikum)

  • Duration: 3–6 months, start date flexible

  • Location: Berlin, on-site (no remote)

  • Compensation: competitive, paid
