Job description

Baserow is a fast-growing open-source no-code database platform that empowers teams to build databases and applications without technical skills. We are on a mission to help teams organize work. As we continue to expand our customer base and platform features, we are looking for a Senior Growth Marketing Manager to help accelerate our growth through data-driven and innovative marketing strategies.

As the Senior Growth Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for driving sustainable customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. You will leverage Product-Led Growth (PLG) strategies to enhance user activation, self-serve funnels, and conversion rates. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of growth strategies, customer journeys, and leveraging both product features and content strategies for organic growth. This role requires someone who is both strategic and data-driven, with a proven track record of hands on ability to execute a strategy in a start-up environment. We look for a hands-on leader who can lead a small team of specialists (SEO specialists, Product Marketing Manager, Community Manager, Content creators). Proven track record of driving revenue growth in B2B SaaS companies is a must.

In this position, you will

  • Develop and Execute Growth Strategies:
    • Own the overall growth strategy, focusing on driving product-led initiatives to boost acquisition, activation, and retention.
    • Identify new channels and optimize existing ones to scale Baserow’s user base, particularly in the B2B space.
    • Leverage data insights to drive continuous optimization and experimentation across all marketing and product-led touchpoints.
  • Lead Product-Led Growth (PLG) Initiatives:
    • Drive self-serve funnels, freemium, and trial strategies to increase user activation and conversion.
    • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to optimize product experiences that encourage viral growth, user engagement, and in-product upsell opportunities.
    • Analyze the customer journey to remove friction points and improve onboarding experiences.
  • Data Analysis and Experimentation:
    • Set up and manage a robust testing and experimentation framework to identify the best strategies for customer acquisition, activation, and retention.
    • Use data and analytics tools to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and PLG efforts.
    • Develop and manage SEO strategy for organic and paid campaigns to drive website traffic.
    • Analyze website and tool usage metrics to derive actions for higher traffic and increased conversion rates.
    • Build content and backlink strategy to increase top of funnel awareness.
    • Report on key metrics (LTV, CAC, user growth) and make data-driven decisions to improve performance.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally:
    • Work closely with product, sales, and customer success teams to ensure alignment across user acquisition and retention efforts.
    • Partner with the product team to create data-informed growth strategies that are embedded within the product’s development cycle.
    • Collaborate with content and product marketing teams to build a unified, customer-centric approach across all communication channels.
  • Optimize B2B SaaS Funnels:
    • Manage and optimize the full-funnel marketing approach, including SEO, PPC, email marketing, content marketing, and other digital marketing tactics tailored for B2B customers.
    • Focus on improving user activation rates, growing revenue from existing users, and increasing customer retention.
    • Develop lifecycle marketing strategies to engage, nurture, and convert leads, using tools like email marketing automation and personalized in-product messaging.
  • Stay on the Cutting Edge:
    • Keep abreast of the latest trends, tools, and tactics in growth marketing, B2B SaaS, and PLG strategies.
    • Experiment with new ideas and growth hacks to give Baserow a competitive advantage.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in growth marketing, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Deep understanding of Product-Led Growth (PLG) strategies and experience driving user acquisition, activation, and retention through PLG initiatives.
  • Proven track record in scaling user bases and driving revenue growth for SaaS companies.
  • Strong experience with data analysis, A/B testing, and experimentation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in tools like Posthog, Semrush, Leadforensics or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, sales, and customer success.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data insights into actionable marketing strategies.
  • A strong sense of ownership, adaptability, and a results-driven attitude.
  • Location: for working hours practicalities, we prefer candidates based in European timezone.
  • Bonus: Experience working in open-source or no-code environments.

What we offer

  • Opportunity to work at a rapidly growing open-source B2B SaaS company.
  • A remote-first company with a flexible working environment.
  • Be a key driver in the growth of a product that is making waves in the no-code space.
  • Work alongside a passionate, talented, and collaborative team that values creativity and innovation.
  • Pre-series A startup with triple digits revenue growth.
  • Uniquely positioned in the no code/low code market.
  • Report directly to the co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer of Baserow
  • Budget available to execute on growth experiments.
