The opportunity:
You will be joining as the first Finance hire and fully own the finance department. You bring at least 5 years of experience and you’re ambitious in accelerating your career growth. The role is designed to groom you into the head of department. You report directly to our Founder/CEO.
Key responsibilities:
- Own all aspects of financial management, including FP&A, management accounting and payroll as well as strategic finance such as budgeting and forecast.
- Work with our external accountant to ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and closing per GAAP.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with our commercial and tech team to drive process improvements and efficiencies.
- Lead the preparation and presentation of financial performance and projections to the leadership team and the board.
- Continuously explore ways to improve and review our financial strategy
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances and opportunities.
- Lead and coordinate the annual financial audit process.
- Stay on top of changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.
- Support in negotiations of new contracts with finance partners.
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles with at least one year in either the software business, management consulting, investment banking or similar.
- Excellent Excel or G-Suite skills. Experience in accounting tools would be highly advantageous.
- Fluency in English; Upper-interdemiate French with B2 and above qualification or equivalent. You will be required to read and prepare French accounts and communicate with Accountants in France.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, safeguard and influence decision-making.
- Good understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to take initiative and drive continuous improvement.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in accounting tools would be highly advantageous.
- Experience in cross-country accounting within the EU.
- ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
