Founding Business Operations Hire
Dust.tt
About Dust
We're creating a new AI operating system that has the potential to change the way companies operate fundamentally. Our mission at Dust is to change work by letting any team and employee shape the agents they exactly need to accelerate their jobs.
With 70%+ weekly active users, people stick with Dust as much as they do with Slack and Notion. We already are a core part of their jobs.
We are at an exciting stage of our journey. We‘ve raised our Series A, expanded in the US, and hit the $1m and $2m ARR milestones in 2024; we aim to x5 our growth by the end of 2025.
Dust is a Sequoia-backed company with an experienced and determined team of optimists (coming from companies like Stripe or OpenAI) that like to focus on users, getting great things done by shipping, and doesn’t take itself too seriously while doing so.
This role
As founding BizOps, you will be instrumental in establishing Dust in the US by acting as the binding force between Dust’s Engineering team, Dust’s customers, and the company’s business objectives. You will focus on projects related to GTM strategy and execution including ones that may not currently have a designated owner and need to be shaped, structured, and prioritized. This role comes with “general athlete” requirements: strong operational excellence and thinking skills, robust prioritization and time-management chops, the ability to communicate easily in various formats with diverse audiences (customers, users, investors, partners, the team, etc…) and the intense desire to drive outcomes.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities may include:
Special Projects & Growth Initiatives. Identify and drive projects that further Dust's growth and success. Act as a liaison between Dust’s founders and various stakeholders, providing support and insights as needed.
Help set up our US operations. Assist our US efforts as it relates to the company's legal affairs, security protocols, and compliance efforts. Help ensure adherence to relevant regulations and industry standards. Coordinate with external experts as needed to protect company and customer interests.
Accelerate US market expansion. Help establish a strong local presence by identifying key opportunities and by owning relationships end-to-end, from lead generation and outreach to discovery and qualification, as well as closing.
Refine our GTM motion. Directly inform our GTM strategy by researching new verticals and segments to identify critical new use cases Dust should support. Partner with Sales and Marketing to build playbooks required to reach and close key accounts
You’ll contribute to building a new product and category from the ground up in a fast-paced environment that encourages a doer attitude and ownership over outcomes.
Requirements
3 to 5 years of operational experience at a fast-growing software company, ideally related to GTM/sales. Past experiences in consulting and investment banking welcomed but not required.
Endless curiosity and eagerness to learn. A do-what-it-takes, results-oriented attitude that can effectively prioritize.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills ****to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders. Ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive attitude.
A data-driven or analytical mindset that can reason rigorously and insightfully about complex or even incomplete analyses.
A genuine interest in the developing field of artificial intelligence in general and large language models in particular.
Proficiency in CRM software (ideally Hubspot) and sales automation tools preferred, but not required.
Compensation and Benefits
For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $100,000 - $200,000.
Location
We're building our team with an in-person culture at our offices in Paris and San Francisco, prioritizing the magic that happens when talented people work closely together.
Why Dust
We're not building yet another enterprise SaaS tool. We’re creating an AI OS that will fundamentally change how companies operate. We believe existing AI models are powerful enough to have a tremendous impact on the world (and will keep getting better) – the key is building the infrastructure so that they have context and explore the best interfaces for humans to interact with them.
We have the unique opportunity to explore and shape the way humans interact with machines while working on a product we use ourselves every day.
If you're excited about crafting products that reinvent B2B software and want to join a team that combines the best of startup culture with the backing of top-tier investors, we'd love to talk.
👋 Even if you don't check every box in our requirements, we encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and backgrounds, and we're more interested in your potential and passion than a perfect match to our checklist.
