About Dust
We're creating a new AI operating system that has the potential to change the way companies operate. Our mission at Dust is to transform how work gets done by letting any team and employee shape the exact agents they need to accelerate their jobs.
With 70%+ weekly active users, people stick with Dust as much as they do with Slack and Notion. We already are a core part of their jobs.
We're at an exciting stage of our journey—and growing fast. We're serving great customers like Cursor, Clay, Whatnot, and Persona, and aim to x6 our growth by the end of 2025.
Dust is a Sequoia-backed company with an experienced and determined team of optimists (coming from companies like Stripe or OpenAI) that like to focus on users, getting great things done by shipping fast, and doesn’t take itself too seriously while doing so.
TLTR;
We're looking for an exceptional Workplace Manager to own the heartbeat of our office as we scale from 50 to 100+ employees.
This isn't a traditional office admin role—you'll be a builder with full agency to craft an exceptional workplace experience that supports our #1 company goal: build the best team.
You'll own everything from daily operations (supplies, Tuesday team lunches, tech setup for rituals) to internal events (monthly team drinks, quarterly dinners, offsites) and external brand-building events hosted at our office. You'll work closely with our People, Talent, Chief of Staff, and Operations teams to ensure every detail—from dietary preferences to milestone celebrations—delights the team and reinforces our in-office culture.
The ideal candidate has event planning or hospitality experience, thrives in ambiguity, brings positive energy, and is genuinely curious about AI. You'll join a high-talent-density team (alumni from Stripe, OpenAI, Square) at a Sequoia-backed startup on a rocket ship (12M to 50M ARR growth this year). If you love creating experiences, operating with agency, and want to shape culture at a cutting-edge AI company, this is for you.
What you'll do:
Own Daily Office Operations
Manage groceries, supplies, and office maintenance to ensure nothing runs out and the team has everything they need
Coordinate weekly Tuesday team lunches and ensure tech setup for bi-weekly all-hands and team rituals runs flawlessly
Proactively identify and solve operational issues before they become problems
Remember the details that matter: dietary restrictions, personal preferences, team member milestones
Ensure office safety standards are met and maintained at all times
Lead the Office Move
Own the end-to-end transition to our new larger office for 100+ employees
Coordinate with real estate, IT, and operations to ensure zero disruption to team productivity
Design and execute the new office setup to support our in-office culture and collaboration
Support a Seamless New Hire Onboarding Experience
Prepare new joiners’ arrivals end-to-end (equipment, desk setup, badges, and day-one logistics)
Coordinate onboarding stakeholders to ensure a smooth experience (People, IT, and the team)
Welcome new hires on day one and help them quickly find their bearings (office tour, practical info, and team rituals)
Drive continuous improvement of the onboarding process based on feedback and recurring pain points
Build Exceptional Event Experiences
Organize internal events: monthly team drinks, quarterly team dinners and 1-2 offsites per year
Partner with marketing/events team to host external brand-building events at the office
Collaborate with People team to create team activities that strengthen culture and morale
Ensure every event is executed with attention to detail and reflects Dust's quality bar
Be the Go-To Person for Team Happiness
Build strong connections with every team member and serve as the go-to person for team happiness and workplace needs
Continuously innovate and improve the employee experience as we grow to 100+ employees
Define your own success metrics in partnership with People, Talent, Chief of Staff, and Operations
Manage workplace budget and find creative solutions to enhance team experience
Communicate assertively when needed (e.g., maintaining office standards, reinforcing team norms)
Requirements:
Must-Haves:
Event planning experience OR leading an office move is a strong plus (you know how to create great experiences and operate under pressure)
Perfect English fluency (our team is highly diverse and international)
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong connections with team members at all levels
Positive energy and exceptional service orientation—you genuinely care about making people's day better
Ease with ambiguity and comfort in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments
Willingness to create, innovate, and take ownership without waiting for permission
Curiosity about AI and technology (you'll need to vibe with a highly technical team)
Strong attention to detail and anticipation—you notice what's needed before being asked
Assertive communication skills when needed (e.g., maintaining office standards)
Nice-to-Haves:
Genuine interest in AI and eagerness to learn about the space
Experience scaling workplace operations in a startup (ideally 50-100+ employees)
French language skills (helpful but not required)
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive compensation: €45.000-60.000 base salary
Significant equity package in a Sequoia-backed startup
Health insurance for you and your dependents
New MacBook Pro or Linux machine, monitor, keyboard, etc.
Beautiful office in the heart of Paris
Regular team events and offsite
Our Culture:
Product-First: Unlike others focused on building foundation models, we're laser-focused on creating delightful product experiences with existing LLMs. Think "No GPUs before PMF".
Small, High-Impact Team: Join a team of alumni from Stripe, Square, OpenAI, and other top tech companies. We're intentionally keeping our team small and mighty – every individual has massive scope and impact.
Transparency & Collaboration: Our repository is open source, and we leverage serendipity between team members. We believe the best ideas emerge when the team shares information and insights openly.
Proactive Problem-Solving: If you see something broken, fix it—without waiting for permission. We don't wait for solutions - we create them.
Ship to Learn: We move fast and learn from real user feedback.
Intellectual Humility: We value strong convictions balanced with open-mindedness. Team members confidently advocate for their ideas while remaining receptive to new perspectives and evidence that might change their minds. If new data emerges, we adapt quickly.
Location
We're prioritizing building our team with an in-person culture at our offices in Paris and San Francisco, valuing the magic that happens when talented people work closely together.
Why Dust
We're not building yet another enterprise SaaS tool. We’re creating an AI OS that will fundamentally change how companies operate. We believe existing AI models are powerful enough to have a tremendous impact on the world (and will keep getting better) – the key is building the infrastructure so that they have context and explore the best interfaces for humans to interact with them.
We have the unique opportunity to explore and shape the way humans interact with machines while working on a product we use ourselves every day.
If you're excited about crafting products that reinvent B2B software and want to join a team that combines the best of startup culture with the backing of top-tier investors, we'd love to talk.
👋 Even if you don't check every box in our requirements, we encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and backgrounds, and we're more interested in your potential and passion than a perfect match to our checklist.
