We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior DevOps & Backend Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will help maintain and develop new features for our backend systems in TeamsMaestro and MailMaestro. You will monitor and scale the infrastructure to ensure these applications run efficiently and reliably. Key Responsibilities:
Kubernetes Operations: Deploy, manage, and scale our platform on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Infrastructure Management: Maintain and evolve Azure infrastructure using Terraform/Terraspace
Backend Development: Maintain and extend the our backend built with Python and Django
CI/CD & Deployment: Own the GitHub Actions pipelines for infrastructure provisioning (Terraspace) and application deployment (Docker build, ACR push, Helm upgrade to AKS).
Observability & Incident Response: Set up and improve monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Container Insights, and logging — proactively resolve incidents and ensure high availability.
AI-Native Development: Use AI-assisted tools (Claude Code, Cursor, LLM-based automation) as a core part of daily development and operations workflows.
Required Skills and Experience:
Kubernetes: Hands-on experience operating production AKS/EKS/GKE clusters — Helm charts, RBAC, ingress-nginx, cert-manager, HPA, node pool management, and pod scheduling.
Azure Cloud: Proven experience with Azure services: AKS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Cache for Redis, Azure Key Vault, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Container Registry, and VNet.
Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform (or Terraspace/OpenTofu) for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure.
Backend Development: Strong proficiency in Python and Django.
CI/CD Pipelines: Experience building and maintaining GitHub Actions workflows for automated infrastructure and application deployments.
AI-Native Mindset: Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools daily and integrating AI capabilities into workflows.
Nice to Have:
Kubernetes Ecosystem: Familiarity with External Secrets Operator, Kyverno policies, cert-manager (Let's Encrypt DNS01), and external-dns.
Multi-Cloud: Exposure to AWS alongside Azure
DevSecOps & Compliance: Familiarity with DevSecOps principles, network policies (IMDS blocking), and compliance frameworks like SOC2.
Cost Optimization: Experience with spot/preemptible instances and tools like Infracost for cloud cost management.
