About the Role:
Fluidstack is expanding our US-based sales team and seeking our first East Coast Sales Director.
This is an IC role in which you will be the founding member of our East Coast sales team. You'll work directly with leadership to shape deal strategies and go-to-market approaches that will define how we scale in the New York market and beyond.
You'll be managing a very consultative and technical sales cycle, working at the intersection of cutting-edge AI development and mission-critical infrastructure, where every conversation has the potential to accelerate breakthrough technologies.
Your technical depth in cloud infrastructure and AI/ML workloads will be essential as you design solutions for everything from nimble AI startups to enterprise giants building the next wave of artificial intelligence applications.
This role offers the rare combination of entrepreneurial ownership, direct collaboration with leadership, and the chance to be at the center of the AI infrastructure revolution that's reshaping entire industries.
Focus:
- Creatively and strategically prospect and close net new customer deals with leading AI Labs in a defined geographic territory or industry vertical.
- Develop and shape the overall deal strategy and structure to meet customer business outcomes and goals.
- Identify and close strategic up-selling opportunities by understanding clients’ core business needs as they scale.
- Take the lead in rapidly responding to RFP’s from target accounts and prospects.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
- Participate in cluster build out discussions based on client needs with senior leadership, product, & engineering.
- Willing to get hands dirty and proactively develop connections with prospects, including digital outreach, attending events and steering potential customers into and down the sales funnel.
- Accurately manage and communicate monthly forecasts and pipeline.
About You:
The ideal candidate meets at least the following requirements:
- Located in or near the NYC market (Boston or Philadelphia also considered).
- 7+ years of direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS at a high growth technology start-up.
- Growth Mindset: You have a strong desire to learn and can pick up new skills quickly and independently.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to speak with C-level clients.
- You believe that hard work is a prerequisite to success, and you are highly ambitious.
- Strong quantitative skills and negotiation ability.
- Proven track record of exceeding revenue expectations.
- Ability to travel <30% of the time.
Pay Transparency Notice:
To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings. Our compensation package includes base salary, equity for all full time roles, benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans.
Our cash compensation (salary + commission) range for this role is $250,000-$300,000. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, relevant licenses/credentials, and other factors.
