About the Role
Fluidstack is seeking a reliable Level 1 Technician to provide critical on-site support for our data center operations. This position requires 24/7 on-call availability and involves hands-on hardware support, equipment installation, and basic troubleshooting tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to follow technical instructions precisely, and comfortable working in a data center environment.
Focus
Respond promptly to remote hands requests from clients and internal teams.
Perform cable management tasks including reseating, swapping, and organizing network and power cables.
Execute server hardware swaps and replacements according to provided specifications.
Install and rack new equipment including servers, switches, and related hardware
Conduct visual inspections and report equipment status, LED indicators, and error messages
Perform basic power cycling and rebooting of equipment as directed
Document all activities accurately in ticketing systems
Maintain cleanliness and organization of data center floor
Follow all safety protocols and security procedures
Assist with inventory management and equipment tracking
About You (Required)
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic understanding of computer hardware and networking concepts
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written/verbal instructions
Excellent communication skills for interacting with remote technical teams
Reliable transportation and ability to respond to calls within15 minutes
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Basic familiarity with ticketing systems and documentation
Preferred Qualifications
Previous data center or IT support experience
CompTIA A+ or similar certification
Experience with server hardware from major vendors (Dell, HP, etc.)
Knowledge of basic networking concepts and cable types
Experience working in temperature-controlled environments
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
Manual dexterity for handling small components and cables
Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels
Visual acuity to read equipment labels and LED indicators
Work Schedule
Primary shift assignment
24/7 on-call availability required
Must be able to respond to emergency calls within agreed-upon SLA
