About the Role
As a Director of Infrastructure Finance, you will lead financial strategy and execution for FluidStack's multi-gigawatt infrastructure expansion. You should be analytically rigorous, strategically minded, and capable of driving complex financial decisions while building and mentoring a high-performing team.
Lead financial strategy for data center and energy infrastructure projects by developing sophisticated financial models (DCF, IRR, sensitivity analysis) and advising senior leadership on portfolio allocation and risk management.
Own due diligence processes for major acquisitions and development opportunities by leading cross-functional workstreams, managing external advisors, and presenting investment recommendations to executive leadership and board members.
Manage a portfolio of projects across various stages by overseeing financial performance, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions to ensure projects meet targeted returns.
Partner closely with development, power diligence, site selection, and construction teams by providing financial insights that inform strategic decisions and optimize project outcomes.
Structure complex financing arrangements by evaluating debt markets, negotiating credit support mechanisms, and designing backstops, guarantees, and off-take agreements that support project viability.
Build and develop the finance team by mentoring junior analysts and associates, establishing best practices, and creating scalable processes as FluidStack grows from 100 to 500+ employees.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance financial modeling frameworks, streamline underwriting processes, and strengthen portfolio monitoring capabilities.
Represent finance in executive discussions by translating complex financial analyses into clear strategic recommendations and presenting to internal leadership, investors, and external partners.
Required Experience
7-10 years of progressive finance experience with a strong foundation in investment banking (infrastructure, real estate, or power groups) and significant buyside experience in private equity, infrastructure funds, or corporate development.
Advanced financial modeling expertise with proven ability to build sophisticated models for complex infrastructure transactions and manage multi-project portfolios simultaneously.
Deep understanding of project finance structures, debt markets, and capital formation with hands-on experience structuring deals and negotiating financing terms.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, projects, and stakeholder relationships across multiple functions and organizational levels.
Expert knowledge of credit support structures and complex financial arrangements including backstops, guarantees, off-take agreements, power purchase agreements, and revenue credit support mechanisms.
Proven track record of closed transactions or successful project deployments with measurable impact on organizational outcomes.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to influence senior leadership and synthesize complex financial concepts for diverse audiences.
Strong business judgment and strategic thinking with ability to balance financial rigor with practical execution constraints.
Preferred Experience
Significant exposure to data centers, power generation, renewable energy, or large-scale real estate development with understanding of sector-specific economics and risk factors.
Deep expertise in power purchase agreements (PPAs), energy markets, and utility-scale infrastructure financing.
Advanced knowledge of data center economics including power density optimization, PUE metrics, capacity planning, and hyperscale infrastructure requirements.
Experience with construction budgeting, development timelines, and managing relationships with general contractors and engineering firms.
MBA or CFA designation from a top-tier program.
Experience in high-growth or scaling organizations navigating rapid expansion and evolving processes.
