About Hole19 & This Role
Hole19 empowers golfers of all skill levels to perform their best. With over 3 million golfers using Hole19 in over 180 countries and thousands of golfers joining every month, Hole19 is one of the most used golf apps in the market.
We’ve been told our Hole19 product is the golfer's best friend. We believe it is a consequence of the passion and smart work we put every day into building the best technology in golf.
We're looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst to help test new features for our Hole19 and CoreGolf mobile apps, managing and replicating bug reports from our customers and shaping our QA processes.
The base quality of our software should be mostly ensured by our Engineering team. This won’t change. You won’t be a gatekeeper for all new software updates but rather work as a facilitator for our Product team, helping them when you’re needed, testing and evangelizing the quality mindset and best practices.
What We Do
We are passionate about designing and creating great user experiences
We keep up with the latest trends and technologies in the mobile space
Our apps are also available for wearable devices such as the Apple Watch. They’re quite important for our business
We like to deliver products with quality and stability but we’re also aware that bugs are bound to slip through our fingers. It’s not about who to blame but how we react and improve our processes
What You'll Do
Test new features for our mobile apps and websites as they are delivered by the Engineering team
Prioritise our bugs list to determine which ones get to be worked on next
Replicate bugs reported by our customers to determine their level of impact and corresponding priority
Help shape and improve our QA processes, strategy and tooling
Help our engineering team figure out which automated tests should be implemented to increase the overall level of base quality of our apps
Identify features’ requirements and translate them into test plans and test cases
Make recommendations for revisions or improvements based on usability testing, user acceptance testing and client feedback
Use Hole19 and CoreGolf, especially on the golf course, to make sure it continues to kick ass
Ability to work in a team-based environment, with the willingness to acquire and share knowledge
Who You Are
You have prior experience testing mobile, wearable and web software, especially on iOS, Android, Apple Watch and WearOS
You are a responsible individual, capable of managing and organising your work
You are open to try out new agile processes and methodologies, and excited to contribute to improve Hole19's ways of working
You have good English writing skills. Since we work remotely, it is quite important that you’re capable of transmitting your ideas and thoughts clearly and concisely
You don’t need to be able to write automated tests or do any programming. This is a functional tester role, not an Engineering one. However, it doesn’t hurt if you have automation or programming skills
You don't need to be a superhero and know everything
You don't need to play golf or even know what golf is about (although it helps a lot)
What we offer
An annual gross salary between 40k and 55k (depending on your experience)
A year-end bonus that can be up to 20% of the annual gross salary
A great working environment within a small but growing team of nearly 40, that cares about your health and growth
The opportunity to have a real impact in shaping the path of a startup with proven traction as it evolves to its next stage of maturity
A safe and respectful work environment that values the actual work you deliver rather than how much time you spend at the "office"
The opportunity to work where and when you'd like. This is a fully remote job but we also have an office in Lisbon and in Oporto, if you enjoy a change of scenery
Gym membership and health insurance
Play golf while on the job (because who wouldn't enjoy that?!)
What to expect from the hiring process
We review your application
Team Culture Interview with Catarina, our Head of People (1h)
Technical interview with the team you'll be working with (~1h30m)
Tech interview & Cultural interview with Eng. Team (1h)
Offer (or feedback)
If that sounds good, we’d love to speak with you!
We don't like to waste anybody's time. We promise to give you our full attention in return for the time you give us.
Apply by dropping us an email at jobs@hole19golf.com.
We look forward to hearing from you!
