Finance Modelling and Data Analyst

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Exciting opportunity to work with ambitious Health-Tech scale-up looking to transform healthcare for NHS outpatients in the UK. This financial modelling and data analyst role will work directly for the CFO to help understand performance and help guide commercial and strategic decisions through financial forecasting, building new business cases and developing and improving an extensive set of data analysis. A remote role (with some very occasional travel to London) combined with a flat structure and flexibility on how to approach the work will suit a self-motivated individual to start or develop their scale-up career ambitions.

The role of Finance Modelling and Data Analyst is responsible for preparing new financial business cases, maintaining and improving existing financial models, supporting the development of processes to collate and store data as well as MI reporting, and producing financial reports as required.

The role will also analyse data using Microsoft PowerBI and Excel to understand financial performance and support strategic and commercial decision making. Advanced Excel skills are therefore a requirement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial modelling: Preparing new financial business cases using excel as well as maintaining and improving existing financial models including the Company 5 year financial model.
  • Finance and related database: working with the Finance team to develop processes to collate and store financial and related operational data as part of a larger data warehouse, ensuring accuracy, completeness and appropriateness.
  • Data and Financial analysis: using a combination of Microsoft PowerBI and Excel to perform analysis on the data warehouse to assist in understanding performance and aiding strategic and commercial decision making.
  • MI Reporting: using data and financial analysis to prepare MI and reporting in tools such as PowerBI and Powerpoint.
  • General: Produce finance and other reports as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Financial modelling - experience of developing, using and maintaining financial models including fully integrated financial statements.
  • Relevant data experience - Use of SQL, PowerBI, Tableau or other relevant data tools including data cleaning, data process, data storing and data modelling.
  • Health or technology industry experience desirable.
  • Relevant financial qualifications or experience desirable.
  • Big 4 consulting or similar experience in working with a range of clients to establish best in class systems desirable.
  • Desire to working in a small fast paced scale-up company.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • High level of numeracy is required.
  • Advanced user of Office 365 suite, especially Excel.
  • Honesty and ability to maintain confidential information is very important.
  • Strong organisational / time management, planning and prioritising skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, able to process detailed information effectively, consistently and accurately.
  • Commercially aware with an ability to understand commercial initiatives and decisions, understands pressures and the demands on others.

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS AND KEY TERMS:

  • Permanent position working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Remote working although there will be a requirement to attend the London office on occasions.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • A relevant level DBS check will be requested at the point of offer, and this is funded by Medefer.
  • Subject to two satisfactory employment references, one being the most recent employer.
  • Copies of relevant qualifications should be shared prior to the commencement of employment.
  • A private and confidential space to work in at home when working remotely.
