Finance Manager
Mimo
Come join us shaping the finance function at a rapidly growing fintech
About us
We're on a mission to help accountants and small businesses spend their time building, not managing admin. Since launching in 2024, we've helped thousands of businesses automate their payments and financing and we're now expanding to transform how accounting firms deliver their core services through Mimo Associate.
Backed by leading institutional investors, Mimo is now rapidly scaling. As we grow, we need someone to own our finance operations and build the foundations for a world-class finance function — one that supports our mission whilst ensuring operational resilience.
What you'll do
You'll be the owner of finance at Mimo. You'll take full responsibility for our day-to-day finance operations. You'll:
Own the full finance cycle — payments, reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and audit support
Drive strategic finance — prepare management accounts, budgets and forecasts that inform business decisions
Build operational resilience — streamline treasury operations, document processes, and implement improvements that scale
Partner with leadership — work closely with our Head of Operations and Chief of Staff on scenario planning and strategic initiatives
Bridge finance and credit — translate between traditional finance operations and credit risk, by collaborating with our Credit & Analytics Manager.
What you'll bring
Finance experience:
4-6 years in finance roles including month-end close, management accounts, and financial reporting
Strong accounting fundamentals — ideally part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA in progress) or equivalent
Hands-on experience with payments operations, reconciliations, and cash management
Financial audit support experience
Advanced Excel skills
Awareness of both Swedish and UK accounting practices, or willingness to learn UK standards
Technical skills:
Experience with accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
Comfortable learning new internal systems for credit and treasury operations
Personal attributes:
Meticulous attention to detail with strong process discipline
Self-starter who can work autonomously and take ownership
Pragmatic problem-solver who balances speed with appropriate controls
Strong communicator who can explain finance concepts to non-finance stakeholders
Adaptable — comfortable shifting between detailed execution and strategic thinking
Collaborative team player who works well across functions
Bonus:
Prior experience in fintech, lending, or B2B credit environments
Exposure to treasury operations or working capital management
Experience scaling finance operations in growth-stage companies
Process improvement or automation mindset
