About Pockit + Monese

Pockit and Monese are the all-in-one money apps that make it easy for people to access and manage the financial tools that put them in control of their money. We provide vital financial services, from e-money accounts through to income advance products to over three million customers across the UK and Europe. In October 2024, Pockit acquired Monese, creating the leading fintech for anyone who is budgeting, saving, or just trying to stay on top of their finances. Both firms are regulated by the FCA.

Following the acquisition of Monese, the business is on a trajectory of growth as the two organisations harmonise and integrate in both the UK and across Europe.

What you’ll be doing:

• Reviewing incoming current account applications on the basis of documents.
• Spotting inconsistencies in the information provided in order to analyse and form an opinion on the acceptability of the customer as per regulatory and internal policy requirements.
• Investigating and evaluating screening alerts (sanctions, PEP, adverse media etc.) for new and existing customers, within Monese procedures, and follow up with the correct actions in line with regulatory requirements.
• Conducting and documenting risk assessments on all applications, determining appropriate due diligence approaches and information required to verify the suitability of the applicant.
• Presenting the file and KYC analysis to senior members of staff for review/approval when required or necessary, highlighting material risks or concerns as well as any exceptions or missing information based on internal policy or external regulatory requirements.
• Identifying suspicious activity in existing customers of which are linked to the applicant in question and escalating to the appropriate team for assessment.

What we want:

• At least a year of experience in KYC/AML related role
• Fluent written and spoken English skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Efficiency, patience and a positive mindset
• Someone who is solution-oriented and never gives up in the face of a challenge
• Someone tech savvy and a quick learner
• Great communicator
