An Introduction to Primer

Primer are the world's first unified payment infrastructure, empowering businesses worldwide to unleash their payment potential. By choosing our platform, merchants can take control over their payment stack, create unique commerce experiences, accelerate their roadmap and increase payment success. We strive to make something complex, incredibly simple and intuitive. The world's top investors, including Accel, Balderton, Iconiq, and Tencent, have invested in Primer's vision to rebuild payments and commerce from the ground up.

Join us in shaping the future of payments and commerce.

The People Team

Primer’s People team exists to build a great, sustainable business. We believe our people are our competitive advantage, and our role is to design an employee experience that helps Primigos do their best work.

We have been fully remote and globally distributed since founding in 2019, and we operate with a high-trust, flexible culture. Our People team works with a Product mindset. We take a user-centric approach, prioritise ruthlessly based on ROI, measure impact through clear metrics such as eNPS, eLTV and CAC, and continuously look for smarter ways to work through automation and AI.

We are looking for a People Partner to support our go-to-market (GTM) and central teams, partnering closely with senior global leaders across Sales, Marketing, Merchant Experience, Finance and Operations. This is a fully remote role and can be based in the UK, Ireland, Portugal or Singapore.

What you’ll do

You’ll own and evolve key parts of our people experience by applying product thinking across the employee lifecycle:

  • Research: Conduct ongoing people product research with leaders, managers and employees to understand needs, behaviours and motivations, building clear user personas.

  • Plan: Identify pain points and moments that matter, translating insights into well-defined problems and hypotheses on the people roadmap.

  • Build: Design and iterate people products such as Career Frameworks, Performance Management, Total Rewards, Policies and Benefits, starting with MVP solutions and improving through feedback and data.

  • Launch: Ensure people product changes are launched clearly and thoughtfully, creating understanding and emotional connection.

  • Drive adoption: Enable self-service and adoption through high-quality documentation, Looms and targeted training.
Partner and support: Coach and advise managers and employees through complex or sensitive situations, using insights from these moments to continuously improve our people products.

You’ll influence outcomes across key metrics including employee NPS, retention and time-to-ramp.

What we’re looking for

  • Senior stakeholder partnering: Experience partnering with senior leaders in complex, changing environments, navigating ambiguity with confidence and pragmatism.

  • End-to-end people expertise: Strong grounding across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.

  • Product-driven mindset: Proven experience building intuitive, tech-enabled, user-centric people products, using first-principles thinking to solve problems at scale.

  • Scale-up experience: Comfortable operating in high-growth, globally distributed organisations, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

  • Commercial exposure: Experience working with GTM or commercial teams is a plus.

We’d love to hear from you if:

  • You love spotting problems and jumping in to solve them - you don’t wait to be told what to do.

  • You’re tech-savvy: you’re comfortable learning and using modern tools to manage workflows in a remote environment (e.g., Notion, Slack, Pitch, Google Workspace, AI tools).

  • You communicate well - we’re a fully remote company and work async a lot!

  • You have a great eye for detail

Our interview process:

The job ad will be open until 6th February and we will not be reviewing applicants until the week starting 9th February.

Throughout the first part of that week, we will reply to everyone. Successful applicants will be invited to interview with the team and every single applicant will receive a message with our decision.

If you’re successful at this stage, our typical process is:

  • 45 minute screening interview with a member of our People team

  • 45 minute follow up interview with our VP People

  • 1 hour live task with a People Partner

  • 30 minute final interview with our COO

What’s in it for you:

  • Full remote setup

  • Working with a Global team - we have Primigos in 32 countries 🗺️

  • Annual Company Retreats and team Workations twice a year

  • Unlimited holiday 🌴

  • £500 yearly L&D budget

  • Private Medical Insurance

Don’t meet every single requirement?

We’re dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply. You may be the right candidate for this or other roles.
