About the role

The credit department at Revolut is anything but ordinary. They design, develop, and launch credit products across the globe 🌏 The team manages our products from day one to the end — developing the back and front-end, the data science infrastructure, and then creating a local setup in each country with scalable risk management and portfolio management solutions. It's a big old job, but our people are a credit to us all ✨

Unfortunately, not everything in fintech can be automated. That's where you come in. We need an Underwriter who can review our customer credit applications when there's a little more digging to be done 🔍 You'll be a master of creditworthiness and decide if the evidence provided meets Revolut's assessment criteria. You’ll also support our collections team with forbearance applications and get an opportunity to be involved in product and marketing management work.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading and managing a team of verification officers, locally and offshore
  • Communicating effectively with loan applicants and internal stakeholders to gather additional information or clarification when needed
  • Reviewing customer documentation and details for accuracy and authenticity
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, lending regulations, and procedures throughout the verification process
  • Evaluating applications against eligibility criteria for decisions
  • Identifying potentially fraudulent applications and escalating where required
  • Supporting broader product initiatives, including collection efforts and customer support

What you'll need

  • Experience in unsecured personal credit applications
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience in customer service
  • High level of numeracy
  • Impeccable attention to detail regarding documentation examination
  • The ability to work within given deadlines/SLAs
  • A solid understanding of lending products and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
