About the role

Government Affairs sits within Global Affairs and is responsible for shaping the external regulatory environment to support Revolut’s growth and profitability, while driving innovation through regulation in a way which is positive for consumers, businesses, merchants, and broader society.

We're looking for a sharp, structured, and passionate Government and Public Affairs Manager to support the delivery of high-profile public affairs campaigns in the UK. You'll lead on key policy areas within the Government Affairs team, influence cutting-edge topics around financial services, and shape the debate within Westminster, Whitehall, and beyond.

You'll also contribute your insights into new tactics, engagement opportunities, and other ways to improve our campaign delivery, both in existing and new policy areas.

Government Affairs will be key to realising our vision and mission of being the world's best financial super app.

And we need someone with a never-settle mindset to come make a difference 🚀

What you’ll be doing

  • Executing the day-to-day delivery of key public affairs campaigns in the UK
  • Supporting the Head of UK Government Affairs on creating and delivering the public affairs strategy
  • Analysing legislation, regulation, and policy, understanding the threats and opportunities for Revolut to inform a best-in-class advocacy strategy
  • Leading on key policy areas within the UK, taking ownership of these areas to shape Revolut’s position and deliver positive outcomes
  • Building a network of trusted relationships with Government, Parliament, regulators, media, etc. while building Revolut’s reputation as a key thought leader within financial services
  • Leveraging external relationships and coalitions, conducting public advocacy campaigns to secure our key policy priorities to boost our long-term growth and profitability
  • Monitoring political debate and regulatory and legislative initiatives
  • Working with software engineers to build game-changing engagement tools (every function at Revolut is a technology function)
  • Engaging in other jurisdictions, following a business need or your own passions and career ambitions

What you'll need

  • 2+ years of experience working in public affairs (agency, in-house, or trade body) or in government, parliament, or other public body
  • Proven experience working in technical, highly regulated policy areas
  • To be self-motivated, highly organised, and focused on high-quality delivery
  • A proactive attitude to work well in a team yet trusted to deliver on targets independently without day-to-day oversight
  • The ability to analyse complex, technical policy, legislation, and regulation to convert this information into actionable strategy
  • A strong understanding of Westminster and Whitehall, especially the Parliamentary processes and various roles of government departments
  • An understanding of the difference between good politics and good policy, how policymakers and regulators think, and how to advocate for good outcomes
  • To have a passion for technology and financial policy
  • Strong written communication skills and an ability to deliver a message succinctly, ideally using data and not words
  • The ability to build strong, mutually respectful relationships with diverse teams and across stakeholders of varying seniority
  • To be comfortable and literate using tech software to manage work streams

Nice to have

  • A strong understanding of current financial services regulations
