About the role

The credit department at Revolut is anything but ordinary. They design, develop, and launch credit products across the globe 🌏 The team manages our products from day one to the end — developing the back and front-end, the data science infrastructure, and then creating a local setup in each country with scalable risk management and portfolio management solutions. It's a big job, but our people are a Credit to us all ✨

Unfortunately, not everything in fintech can be automated. That's where you come in. We need an Underwriter who can review our customer credit applications when there's a little more digging to be done 🔍 You'll be a master of regulation, and decide if the information provided meets Revolut's creditworthiness criteria.

What you’ll be doing

• Evaluating applicants' creditworthiness and identifying risks, including assessments of affordability and reviews of credit files in line with Revolut’s lending criteria
• Reviewing customer documentation and details for accuracy and authenticity
• Identifying potentially fraudulent applications and escalating where required
• Communicating with customers either to request or provide information relating to credit applications
• Making decisions regarding whether to approve an applicant for credit
• Assessing and making decisions regarding overdue/forborne/non-performing loans that do not pass automated decision making
• Consulting internal operation teams regarding lending, forbearance, and collections

What you'll need

• A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or similar field
• Experience in underwriting unsecured personal loans and/or credit cards
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements
• The ability to question and scrutinise information
• A high level of numeracy
• A high level of attention to detail regarding documentation examination
• The ability to work within given deadlines/SLAs
• A solid understanding of lending products and practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Customer service experience
