About Stackfix

About the role

We're seeking an entrepreneurial designer to work closely with the founders to craft the Stackfix experience. This is a multi-faceted product design role with the additional ownership of being our 1st design hire. You'll have a fundamental role in shaping the product experience, the Stackfix brand identity, and Stackfix as a company.
Design is of paramount importance to us, as we compete in a market which is hampered by poor UX, and a domain (SaaS software) which is too often confusing for our customers. You will have the ownership to explore designs, empowered to speak with users directly, and work closely with world class engineers who care about design as much as you do.
The primary focus of this role is UX (i.e designing intuitive user experiences), but a good UI skillset is important to us as the right candidate will be able to make elements visually captivating when required.
The role will likely be solo (with external resource when required) for the next ~10 months, before growing the team.
👩‍💻
Who you are
A Product Designer with 3+ years' experience working closely with founding teams, shaping the end-to-end product experience.
Have experience designing intuitive data-heavy web applications and bringing them to life in Figma.
Excited to work closely with our users, founders and engineers to design, test and iterate rapidly towards product market fit.
Deeply product minded. You care immensely about crafting experiences that solve problems for users but which also feel magical to use.
Excited by the challenge and opportunity of taking a company from zero to one with design as a primary consideration, rather than an afterthought.
Eager to work across several product experiences (end-user facing, supplier facing and internal). You’re also excited by the challenge of crafting a cohesive brand identity that’s truly differentiated across experiences as well as in the content we publish.
🛠️
What you’ll be doing
Designing a new interface for AI-powered commerce - working side-by-side with engineers to design intuitive and visually stunning user journeys, ship your designs to customers and iterate.
Reimagining our brand identity, positioning us as an innovative tech-forward solution to the painful problem of software search and comparison.
Designing a suite of marketing materials for use across channels to win mind share and compete effectively in the noisy search & social landscape.

Our hiring process

We like to move quickly. For that reason, we follow a short, standardised process for all design roles. It’s designed to help us learn more about you and crucially, for you to discover if you’d like working with us.
1st call with Paddy (CEO). We’ll begin by having an informal discussion about your experiences, values, and career goals, and give you an opportunity to learn about our ambitious goals, and how you’lll contribute to them. You’ll have the chance to ask any questions about Stackfix as a business.
2nd call with Paddy or Camin (CTO). We’ll jump on a 45 minute call to pair on one of current design challenges. This will introduce you to the type of things you might be working on, and be a vehicle to learn more about your approach to design. It will also give us both a chance to ask more questions.
In person co-work. We’ll invite you to our central London office to work with us (paid) for roughly half-a-day. In some exceptional cases we might ask you to do a remote work assessment instead of an in-office trial. You’ll complete actual sprint work (nothing fictitious!). Feel free to ask questions - you’re our colleague for the day.
References. At this stage, we ask for references. We believe exceptional people are consistently exceptional, but we also appreciate humility. We want to learn where you’re world-class, where you have room to grow, and how we can provide the best environment for you to excel.
Offer. We’ll make you an offer and look forward to having you join us!
