Working at Stotles

About this Role & Why We're Hiring

It's never been a more exciting time at Stotles. Here's why we're looking for you.

The Research and Services team is one of the most exciting and fastest growing parts of the business. Sitting within the commercial function, this team works closely with customers on our go-to-market SaaS platform, who are major companies selling into government, to make data backed decisions and inform public sector sales and bid strategy. We're now looking for a Commercial Research Analyst to join the team and be responsible for the delivery research projects linked with our customers and internal commercial teams.

This is a role for someone who understands the UK public sector and how government organisations procure from companies, thrives on turning complex data into clear, actionable outputs, and wants to work at the intersection of research, commercial strategy, and technology. You'll work directly with customers and internal teams, scoping and delivering research briefs, building reports and market maps, and connecting insight to action on our platform.

You'll be joining at a pivotal moment and helping shape how the research and services team grows.

Comp Range: £45,000 - £60,000 plus an equity options & package tailored to your experience

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for research projects - from fielding and scoping customer requests, through data analysis, to delivering polished outputs and presenting findings back to stakeholders.

  • Connect insight to action - generating market maps, opportunity reports, competitor and partner analyses, and sector specific briefings that help companies understand and act on opportunities and drive adoption of our sales and bid platform.

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to win new customers - contribute research to prospect demos, content, webinars, and reports that prove the value of our data and domain experience to new customers.

  • Stay close to public sector policy and procurement - be an internal source of market knowledge, keeping commercial teams informed on relevant funding, frameworks, and buyer activity.

  • Contribute to process improvement and product innovation at Stotles - help further design and refine how we deliver research at scale at Stotles, with an eye on AI, automation and efficiency.

Who We're Looking For

Must haves

  • Minimum 3+ years of professional experience, with at least some of that in or adjacent to the UK public sector (e.g. bids, procurement, public affairs, public sector sales, or policy)

  • An understanding of UK public sector procurement. You know what a tender is, what a framework agreement is, and how the procurement cycle works without needing to be taught.

  • Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills (index-match should mean something to you!), and experience translating sometimes messy data into clear, presentable outputs for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong written and verbal communication. You can present complex findings in a way that's clear and credible to a range of stakeholders, both internal and external.

  • Comfortable working autonomously to deadlines and managing multiple projects with minimal direction.

  • Tech savvy and quick to pick up new tools, familiarity with AI tools (Claude in particular) is a strong plus.

Nice to haves

  • Experience with data visualisation tools (Tableau or Power BI)

  • Familiarity with public sector procurement through a supplier’s lens and how businesses go to market in government

  • Experience presenting or demoing to external stakeholders

Mentality

  • Analytical and detail-oriented. You find patterns in data and translate them into clear recommendations.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to structure your own work without heavy direction.

  • Curious and proactive. You're interested in how things work and want to build, not just deliver.

  • Open to feedback and collaborative by nature.

📢 Most importantly, we're looking for curious, ambitious people who love to learn and want to be a part of building something special. If (for any reason) you don't fit our requirements but you're passionate about our vision, don't hesitate to apply!
