Our Mission:

At Sunrise Robotics, we are dedicated to augmenting humanity through intelligent robotics. Our mission is to elevate the world of manufacturing by introducing intelligent, flexible robots that enhance human capabilities and existing machinery, ushering in the next era of production at higher quality, with less waste, and lower cost.

Our Vision:

We see a future where every element of manufacturing, from design to assembly, is optimised with intelligent automation. Our vision is to integrate flexible robotic solutions, based on generic hardware and advanced software/AI capabilities, into manufacturing, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises, to make automation economically viable and accessible, for all sizes of manufacturers. We are not just building robots; we are creating the strategically crucial components for autonomous, intelligent agents of the future.

The Role:

As our Head of Finance, you’ll be the first dedicated finance hire at a fast-paced, vertically integrated robotics company.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll have both operational and strategic responsibilities. From building robust financial processes, architecting innovative capital strategies for our robotics fleet, and collaborating with the broader organization to empower leaders to impact company outcomes with financial targets in mind.

As a key decision-maker, you'll be partnering with the founders, engineering, product, and operations to shape the company’s trajectory on our path to build a generational company.

You’ll also work closely with the Board and investors to provide transparent, data-driven financial insights that shape strategic decisions.

If you excel at navigating complexity to deliver lasting impact, and thrive in an environment where you have the freedom to create foundational systems from the ground up, this role will be a great fit.

What You’ll Do:

Establish Core Financial Operations - Build from scratch (or overhaul) processes for AP/AR, expense management, payroll (in coordination with external accountants), and month-end close—laying a foundation that supports fast iteration and growth.

Drive Cash Flow & Resource Allocation - Develop near and mid-term forecasts, monitor burn rate, and oversee capital allocation and ROI analysis to ensure resources drive measurable returns across operations and high-priority R&D initiatives.

Execute Fundraising & Capital Strategy - Partner with the founders to craft financial models and prepare due diligence materials. Explore both dilutive and non-dilutive structures to secure capital on favorable terms to support our fleet-scaling ambition.

Architect Financing for Hardware Complexity - Address the unique challenges of hardware deployment, managing supply chain costs, production timelines, and fleet maintenance. Use creative financing to balance up-front manufacturing expenses with long-term returns.

Produce High-Value Financial Insights - Develop dynamic scenario models capturing the interplay between hardware development, software iterations, supply-chain constraints, and market adoption. Present clear, actionable insights for the broader team, leadership, and investors.

Integrate Modern Tools & Automation - Identify and implement best practices and software to minimize manual work, ensure real-time data accuracy, and enable swift decision-making across the organization.

Collaborate with Technical & Operational Teams - Work hand-in-hand with engineers, product managers, and operations to create transparency on what impacts financial outcomes, align budgeting, cost analyses, and project planning with evolving technical requirements—ensuring a seamless link between finance, continuous innovation, and product delivery.

Who You Are:

Seasoned Financial Professional - You bring 10+ years of broad finance experience, ideally in entrepreneurial or high-growth environments, covering end-to-end financial operations and strategic planning.

Hands-On Builder - You relish rolling up your sleeves to create or rebuild finance functions from the ground up, rather than inheriting a fully established system.

Strategic & Analytical Mindset - You’re adept at negotiating with investors, structuring different types of capital, and formulating creative financing solutions—especially for complex hardware or deep-tech ventures.

Autonomous Decision-Maker - You’re comfortable owning critical financial decisions in a dynamic setting, handling ambiguity with confidence, and learning quickly when stakes are high.

Expert Communicator & Collaborator - You translate sophisticated financial data into cohesive, jargon-free, actionable insights—starting with the big picture before zeroing in on the details, naturally building consensus around key initiatives.

Exceptional Relationship Builder - Able to partner cross-functionally, influence without authority, and drive alignment with both technical and non-technical leaders across the organization.

Entrepreneurial & Resourceful- You excel at prioritizing speed and momentum without sacrificing core financial discipline, leveraging both data and intuition in a fast-paced startup culture.

Leadership & Team Builder - While initially a hands-on individual role, you’ll build and mentor a high-performing finance team as the company scales.

Good to Have:

Professional Credentials - CPA, ACCA, CFA, or an equivalent that signifies a strong technical or accounting foundation.

Hardware/Robotics Exposure - Experience in robotics, manufacturing, or hardware-centric sectors, where real-world product complexities intersect with financial planning.

European Accounting & Regulatory Know-How - Proficiency in EU-specific tax, reporting, and compliance guidelines.

Familiarity with Non-Dilutive Financing Instruments - Experience with asset-backed loans, grants, or similar mechanisms.

  • Robust financial operations and reporting cadence established across the organization.

  • Reliable forecasting and scenario models actively informing strategic and operational decisions.

  • Successful buildout and implementation of fleet financing strategy with favorable terms.
