About Thriva
Thriva is the UK's leading diagnostics business and we’re on a mission to help millions of people worldwide become actively invested in their long term health, through using health insights to help them thrive.
Our consumer business is for everyone who wants to improve and understand what is happening inside their bodies. From taking a home test to getting actional results and GP advice all through a website and app.
Our B2B business, Thriva Solutions offers health services and provides a full end to end diagnostic service (DAAS). We offer speed, reduced risk and scaling of diagnostic capabilities for partners who work with us. We’re building a new category in the market and would love for you to come on this journey with us.
The Role
The product team at Thriva brings value propositions alive and shapes the customer experience - we make the mission real in product form. From discovery to build, we work together on plenty of complex challenges everyday. Our team is multidisciplinary, diverse and collaborative. You’ll be working with engineers, product managers, marketing and growth experts as well as our clinical and operations teams. Our team members are humble people who truly care about what we’re building and how it can help people whilst supporting Thriva’s continued growth.
We’re creating something entirely new and we don’t know everything. So we’re constantly trying new things to understand how we can deliver value to our customers - both direct to consumer and through our B2B partnerships - currently that means retail pharmacists and academics. We set quarterly goals which means you’ll always know what you’re doing tomorrow is aligned to helping grow the company over the next few months.
We are building a rich, powerful and scalable Diagnostics as a Service platform to serve the needs of our direct customers and partners from a range of healthcare sectors. Our platform covers user acquisition, supply chain, analysis and clinical response enabling us to build a unique dataset that will allow us to learn more than ever about people’s health and predict issues before they occur. We want to take a scalable approach to design as we build this platform, so thinking strategically about modular approaches that are composable is important. But we also build for specific user needs and contexts, so there’s a balance to be struck that requires strategic design thinking and a holistic approach.
We’re currently thinking lots about how we make our platform as self-serve as possible for B2B partners - and iterating on a new Partner Hub product that needs continued design input and iteration based on partner feedback and new use cases. We’re also looking at a discovery project to help us create the best possible test results experience for our 200,000+ strong consumer customer base. The aim here is to help people engage with their biomarker results and take action to improve their health, whilst feeling their best day to day. We know the importance of a design mind across projects like these, and we’re looking for someone excited by the challenge of varied projects sitting at different stages of the design lifecycle.
About you
Love a fast-paced environment? So do we. As a startup, we move quickly, ship often, and iterate as we go. The day-to-day is likely to change month-to-month as we go through discovery, design, build and test cycles. We’re looking for someone who can bring a broad design skillset to that journey, and can contribute by:
confidently contributing design thinking in a multidisciplinary environment, from within a small but close-knit team
creating well-executed and considered product designs - sometimes with a dose of pragmatism, working at pace
contributing to design systems at Thriva, helping us work efficiently and embed design best practices at scale
working in tandem with others including product managers, growth and marketing and engineering - quickly iterating in partnership
spending meaningful time with our users, designing light touch user research and user testing projects as part of the design process to enable effective decision-making
working end-to-end through the product lifecycle — bringing a strategic design mindset to discovery projects and getting hands-on with delivery
work across our end-to-end customer journeys, from our marketing site, app, web dashboards, and our at-home and in-person physical products
developing a deep understanding of our consumer health problem space and analysing design and product ideas and trends in competitor and comparison products — building and communicating a strong rationale behind your thinking that includes insight into shortlisted but rejected ideas
using qualitative and quantitative data to iterate on products and features
thinking in systems and flows — not isolated screens or features
creating well-crafted UI, mockups, and prototypes
designing products that drive meaningful engagement and customer retention, ultimately promoting positive health outcomes
comfortably working with structured, technical data and information - our products are data-rich and need to meet high standards for clinical rigour and accuracy
It'd be great if you have a personal interest in health and wellbeing and find our products exciting - we offer blood test credits that allow the team to use our own product regularly.
