Your mission

As Trading Operations Intern, you will join the team full-time and work with other Operations Managers and the sales team with the mandate of flawlessly executing negotiated and booked orders, covering processes from order confirmations to delivery to invoicing and payments. This role is hands-on and fast-paced. Things move quickly in trading and logistics, and success requires staying organized, communicating well under pressure, and enjoying solving unexpected challenges. If you like taking ownership and making things happen every day, you’ll do great here. Specifically this will include:

  • Booking orders into our ERP system and issuing order confirmation documentation

  • Sourcing logistics quotes and handling steel & metal delivery within Europe (by truck or rail) or to export markets (by sea) through our network of shipping companies

  • Collaborating with our factoring partners to ensure deal financing when required

  • Revenue operations - issuing invoices, processing incoming invoices, processing and tracking payments, managing overdue invoices

  • Ensuring statutory reporting compliance including VAT declarations and Intrastat reporting

  • Ensuring we maintain an updated and relevant network of logistics partners to provide truck delivery across Europe

  • Automating existing workflows to reduce manual work and improve process stability and scalability

Your profile
  • First experience in trading operations in a B2B trading environment for physical goods (commodities, ideally metals)

  • Understanding of commodity (metal) trading processes and documents

  • Understanding of payment terms and experience actively managing receivables

  • Familiarity with B2B invoicing processes

  • Advanced knowledge in Excel/Google Sheets

  • Strong quantitative skills - able to handle large amounts of data

  • High attention to detail and consistency in documentation – precision matters in logistics, invoicing and compliance.

  • Proactive communication – you escalate risks early, ask questions, and keep stakeholders aligned.

  • Ability to work under time pressure while maintaining accuracy – orders and deliveries often require same-day decisions and coordination.

  • Structured and calm problem-solving – when issues arise (delays, document mismatches, complaints), you can prioritize, communicate clearly, and move execution forward.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German optional)

NICE TO HAVE:

  • First experience with truck and ship logistics, including an understanding of incoterms and risk transfer

  • Familiarity with legal requirements regarding regional and export shipments and respective documentation

  • Knowledge of customs procedures, including simplified customs authorizations and documentation handling.

Why us?
  • Ownership of projects with a focus on outcomes rather than time-tracking

  • Fast-paced yet collaborative culture fostering individual performance and teamwork

  • Competitive compensation based on experience

  • Urban Sports Club membership subsidized

  • Hybrid work format

  • Beautiful office located in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin

  • Regular team building events, company breakfasts and Friday drinks
