Your mission

As Account Manager (Steel Trader) for the Eastern Europe, you will own Vanilla Steel's entire commercial footprint in Poland - P&L, client relationships, and new business development. You will be the dedicated point of contact for Polish-speaking buyers and suppliers, taking a market with existing foundations and scaling it into a fully self-sustaining regional business.

This is a high-autonomy, high-accountability role. There is no playbook. You define your own priorities, build your own pipeline, and are measured directly on what you produce - not on activity. Your results show up in P&L.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manage and grow Vanilla Steel's trading and brokerage activity across the Polish market

  • Act as primary point of contact for key Polish-speaking clients - both buyers and suppliers

  • Source and close profitable trading deals end-to-end; coordinate with Operations for execution

  • Identify and acquire new Polish-market clients through outbound outreach, cold calls, and meetings

  • Manage deal execution, delivery issues, and client escalations proactively

  • Provide regular market feedback and performance insights to the broader team

  • Leverage AI tools and internal platforms to accelerate commercial output

Your profile

  • Native or C1/C2 Polish - primary language for all client communication (non-negotiable)

  • Business-level English - internal team language (non-negotiable)

  • 2+ years of B2B sales or account management experience, ideally in trading, industrial, or commodity sectors

  • 1+ year in a role with direct deal ownership - not inbound order-taking

  • Proven track record of independently built Polish-market client relationships with named accounts and real numbers

  • Ownership mindset

  • Comfortable operating without a task list, management infrastructure, or structured onboarding

  • Digitally fluent with genuine enthusiasm for AI tools as a commercial accelerator

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience in steel, metals, or commodity trading, as well as B2B sales

  • CRM experience (HubSpot preferred - trainable on the job)

  • German language skills

  • Cross-border commercial exposure beyond the Polish domestic market
