About the job
We are looking for a full-time Financial Crime Manager with direct experience in wealth management/brokerage/trading compliance and with a strong background in Anti-Money Laundering. The position presents a real opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to join a growing business and is looking to develop their career within a dynamic team spanning finance and technology.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the Financial Crime Operations Team with your peers, which includes:
  • Assisting the Financial Crime Analysts with their duties, which may include undertaking those duties in time of absence or high workloads. These duties include:
  • Conducting KYB and KYC checks on WK’s customers
  • Reviewing customer alerts and completing ongoing monitoring reviews for customers.
  • Transaction monitoring
  • Conducting Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews and where necessary liaising with Tenants for additional information and documentation.
  • Drafting internal SARs for escalation to the 2nd line function
  • Managing the team workloads
  • Having and documenting regular 121’s with any direct reports
  • Approving holidays and other absences for any direct reports, in-line with HR policies
  • Conducting performance reviews for any direct reports in line with HR policies.
  • Providing ongoing training and coaching to any direct reports.
Financial Crime Ops Processes
  • Creating, documenting, and maintaining team processes in line with the Financial Crime Policies created by members of the 2nd line oversight team.
  • Ensuring these processes are embedded in the department, and where necessary other areas of the business.
  • Monitoring the Financial Crime Operations Team, to ensure that the firm's policies and processes are complied with.
  • Updating the Financial Crime Processes where required by the firm’s 2nd line oversight teams, the Executive Committee (COB), the Board or Internal Audit.
Other Business as Usual (BAU) tasks
  • Conducting fraud investigations
  • Liaising with our intermediary clients on any financial crime operations matters to both answer queries and ensure our expectations are understood.
  • Creating or inputting towards the firm’s financial crime reports, including assisting with the annual MLRO report.
  • Providing updates on the team’s performance in relation to financial crime matters, to relevant senior managers, committees, and the board, via both written and verbal means where necessary depending on the forum. This may include the creation of formal reports.
General
  • Supporting the team in responding to queries from the business related to financial crime
  • Ensuring adequate record keeping of all matters relating to the firm's financial crime operations.
  • Assisting other areas of the business with ad-hoc tasks and projects where necessary.

Requirements

Requirements
Some must haves:
  • Strong knowledge of the FCA rules, regulations, and legislations relating to financial crime.
  • Experience working in the Financial Services Sector
  • Experience in and strong understanding of AML/CTF governance and regulatory control frameworks and best practices
  • Good knowledge of risk indicators in relation to various money laundering and terrorist financing typologies
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a digital environment
  • Comfortable working in a remotely based company
  • The ability to adapt quickly to changing situations
  • Ability to manage workloads well, without supervision
  • As well as an ability to work unsupervised, the ideal candidate should also work well in a diverse and collaborative team environment.
You will really stand out if you have:
  • Experience with payment service provides and international payments
  • Experience in risk management
  • Managerial experience
  • Experience in the fintech and/or start-up spaceDiploma level qualification in AML
The ideal candidate will have worked in the Financial Crime sector of the financial services compliance space for a minimum of 3 years. They will be a self-starting problem-solver with plenty of initiative.
