London or Malta | hybrid working environment

Weavr is the easiest way for businesses to embed relevant financial services into software at the point of need. Founded by serial entrepreneurs who are leaders in the fields of payments and fintech, we’re a team of 100+ can-do builders who are at the frontier of the embedded-finance industry.

The team is characterised by smart, kind and high-performing experts who offer and ask for respect, openness and trust. Weavr is still small enough to feel tight-knit but operates and communicates at the level of a more mature organisation.

This role & opportunity

We’re hiring a Mid-Level QA Engineer to join our Plugin team, where you'll be at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge technologies that streamline the integration of financial services and account payable solutions. Your responsibility will extend beyond mere participation; you'll be empowered to take ownership of ensuring top-notch quality throughout the development lifecycle. This means leading by example to foster a culture of excellence and advocating for best engineering practices like test automation.

Working in a squad of backend developers and product managers your role holds immense significance in shaping Weavr's success. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to innovate and provide simplified, flexible, and accessible banking and payment solutions to our customers. By driving a collective commitment to quality and embracing modern engineering methodologies, you will play a pivotal role in propelling Weavr towards achieving its strategic goals.

Join us in reshaping the future of financial technology, where your skills and dedication will be instrumental in driving our success forward.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively as part of a small, cross-functional team: Enhances collaboration and communication within diverse teams, fostering innovation and efficient problem-solving.

  • Drive a whole-team approach to QA: Ensures shared responsibility for product quality among all team members, promoting thorough testing and continuous improvement.

  • Work with the team to refine and estimate user stories: Ensures clear understanding of project requirements, minimises uncertainties, and facilitates effective resource allocation and planning.

  • Clarify product requirements and identify risks: Mitigate potential project risks, maintain focus, and accelerate decision-making by proactively addressing uncertainties.

  • Estimate and develop testing strategies: Align testing efforts with project goals, maximising coverage and effectiveness to ensure product reliability.

  • Design, create, and execute test cases: Validate compliance and functionality of product features, ensuring satisfaction of acceptance criteria.

  • Execute testing activities and document defects: Facilitate prompt defect identification, resolution, and documentation, maintaining product integrity and user satisfaction.

  • Develop test automation architecture: Streamline testing processes and accelerate product delivery by automating repetitive tasks and focusing on high-value activities.

  • Design and implement automated tests for Frontend and Backend API’s: Ensures comprehensive test coverage and reliability of both user interfaces and underlying systems, enhancing product quality.

  • Identify defects, track results, and contribute to defect resolution: Ensures timely resolution of issues, maintain product quality, and enhances customer satisfaction.

  • Produce and maintain testing documentation: Provide transparency, support regulatory compliance, and facilitate knowledge sharing for ongoing product enhancement and maintenance.

About You

The section below describes our "ideal candidate." However, our hiring process places a strong emphasis on aptitude and passion. If you haven't used every specific tool or haven't met all the skill and experience criteria listed, please don't let that discourage you from applying. We highly value potential and dedication over a rigid checklist of qualifications. However, it's important to note that experience utilising Java or another backend language to develop and execute automated tests is essential.

  • Exceptional Written and Verbal Communication: Proficient in conveying complex ideas clearly and effectively, fostering cohesive collaboration among team members and stakeholders.

  • Team Collaboration: Skilled in promoting an environment of teamwork, encouraging open communication, and leveraging diverse perspectives to drive project success.

  • Advanced Java: Proficient in utilising Java to develop and execute automated tests, enhancing testing efficiency and effectiveness. Bonus points for experience doing the same with JavaScript

  • Test Automation Proficiency: Skilled in developing and implementing test automation solutions, improving testing efficiency, scalability, and repeatability.

  • Expertise in Software QA Methodologies and Tools: Strong understanding of industry-standard QA practices, processes, and tools, facilitating efficient planning, execution, and optimisation of testing activities.

  • Extensive Software Testing Experience: Seasoned professional with circa 5 years of hands-on experience in software testing, providing valuable insights and expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.

  • Test Planning and Case Development: Proficient in crafting clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases, ensuring thorough test coverage and validation of product functionalities.

  • Proficiency in Performance, Load, Stress, Security, and Reliability Testing: Thorough understanding and experience in conducting various types of testing to ensure product robustness and reliability under different conditions.

  • Test Framework Design: Experienced in designing test frameworks and suites tailored to project requirements, optimising testing effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Microservice Testing Experience: Proficient in testing microservice-based architectures to ensure reliability, scalability, and interoperability of complex systems.

  • Docker Experience: It would be great, yet not essential to have experience with Docker to facilitate consistent and portable testing environments, enhancing collaboration and streamlining the testing process.

About Weavr

Digital innovators of all kinds need to create, deploy and integrate frictionless payment flows in their products, applications and systems.

Today, there are ever more payment networks and systems to choose from or to support, and payment infrastructure has never been so open and API-enabled as it is today. However, the security and compliance burden has also increased, as has the complexity that comes with most power, choice and responsibility.

Weavr addresses these challenges in practical ways, simplifying how digital payments are purchased, delivered and consumed. With Weavr, building complex payment flows seems unreasonably simple. There’s no catch - Weavr is based on the results of an ambitious EU-Horizon 2020 funded research project that set to develop engineering solutions to the difficult problems of guaranteeing security and compliance while providing maximum openness and power to developers, and to simplify the creation of complex payment logic through model-driven engineering techniques.
