London, Newcastle or Malta | hybrid working environment

Weavr is the easiest way for businesses to embed relevant financial services into software at the point of need. Founded by serial entrepreneurs who are leaders in the fields of payments and fintech, we’re a team of 100+ can-do builders who are at the frontier of the embedded-finance industry.

The team is characterised by smart, kind and high-performing experts who offer and ask for respect, openness and trust. Weavr is still small enough to feel tight-knit but operates and communicates at the level of a more mature organisation.

This role & opportunity

Join our team at Weavr as a Technical Writer, where you'll lead the charge in crafting customer-facing documentation and driving our technical documentation strategy. As part of the Product team you’ll focus on refining documentation processes and standards, playing a vital role in the continuous growth and evolution of our product development journey.

You'll be pivotal in articulating our solutions to the market, positioning us as a category leader. Your contributions will ensure that customers and developers have clear guides on how to integrate with our product, thereby driving up our NPS scores and reinforcing our reputation for outstanding user experience and technical excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Documentation Management: Lead the end-to-end creation, maintenance, and organisation of external technical documentation (API docs, UI Components, Mobile SDKs), including reference guides and tutorials.

  • Content Development: Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation suitable for developers as well as product teams.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and other subject matter experts to gather information and ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular reviews and audits of existing documentation to identify areas for improvement, consistency, and accuracy.

  • Documentation Standards: Establish and enforce documentation standards, templates, and best practices to ensure consistency and alignment internally and with industry standards.

  • User Feedback: Solicit feedback from developers and stakeholders to continuously improve the quality and usability of API documentation.

  • Documentation Tools: Utilise documentation tools and standards (e.g., OpenAPI, Git, Markdown) to create, manage, and publish documentation and guides effectively

About You

The section below describes our "ideal candidate." However, our hiring process places a strong emphasis on aptitude and passion. If you haven't used every specific tool or haven't met all the skill and experience criteria listed, please don't let that discourage you from applying. We highly value potential and dedication over a rigid checklist of qualifications. However, it's important to note that you have experience as a technical writer and proficient knowledge of API concepts.

  • API Technical Writer: Experience in technology-driven environments, you excel in creating clear and effective documentation while possessing a strong grasp of API concepts, including RESTful APIs, and developer workflows.

  • Documentation Tools Mastery: Proficiency with documentation tools and platforms such as OpenAPI, Git, and Markdown empowers you to streamline documentation processes and maintain consistency and quality across projects.

  • Fluent & Effective English Communication Skills: Your exceptional written and verbal communication skills allow you to distil intricate technical information into concise, understandable documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility for users.

  • Attention to Detail and Quality: You're detail-oriented and committed to accuracy and quality in your work, ensuring that documentation meets high standards and effectively serves its purpose.

  • Collaborative Adaptability: You thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments, adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Agile Methodologies Experience: Experience working with Agile development methodologies equips you to seamlessly integrate into dynamic team environments and contribute to iterative development processes.

  • Fintech/Banking Sector Experience: Background in Fintech/Banking further enhances your understanding of industry-specific requirements and challenges, enabling you to deliver tailored documentation solutions.

About Weavr

Digital innovators of all kinds need to create, deploy and integrate frictionless payment flows in their products, applications and systems.

Today, there are ever more payment networks and systems to choose from or to support, and payment infrastructure has never been so open and API-enabled as it is today. However, the security and compliance burden has also increased, as has the complexity that comes with most power, choice and responsibility.

Weavr addresses these challenges in practical ways, simplifying how digital payments are purchased, delivered and consumed. With Weavr, building complex payment flows seems unreasonably simple. There’s no catch - Weavr is based on the results of an ambitious EU-Horizon 2020 funded research project that set to develop engineering solutions to the difficult problems of guaranteeing security and compliance while providing maximum openness and power to developers, and to simplify the creation of complex payment logic through model-driven engineering techniques.
