Data Protection Officer (f/m/d)

We integrate the extensive know-how built up in the individual countries and the exchange of experience to build strong expertise among the wefox technology experts in our Tech Hubs in Barcelona, Paris, and Milan.

In this role you will:

  • Provide the Country Business Leader, the Country ExCos and the Country Directors holistically all compliance and data privacy advice they need to successfully run the Business, perform their tasks, fulfil the strategy defined by the Group and ensure full compliance of applicable laws and regulations
  • As appointed DPO for the Liechtenstein market handling all the interactions with Liechtenstein data protection authorities
  • Conduct investigations into compliance and/or ethics issues
  • To carry out duties as the appointed DPO and identify, implement, oversee and monitor data privacy issues
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to support and promote regulatory compliance and a culture of integrity
  • Promote awareness and responsibility through regular communication and training, including developing and conducting regular training for Company personnel
  • Facilitate Company’s risk management process, conducting risk assessments and maintaining risk registers, and organizing/managing risk committees as relevant
  • Conduct periodic monitoring and compliance assessments to confirm compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and standards

What you bring:

  • University degree or equivalent education with additional training in the field of data protection / compliance or willingness to obtain a corresponding certification (CIPP, Certified Compliance Professional)
  • 3-5 years of practical in-house experience in a comparable function in the financial sector (insurance or broker/intermediary) is preferred; alternatively, relevant experience with a financial market supervisory authority in Switzerland (FINMA), Liechtenstein (FMA) or Germany (BaFin) is also possible
  • Professional German and English language skills at C2 level (oral and written) are a must, any other language is welcome
  • Strong technical skills (MS Office, Google Suite) and experience with compliance and data protection management systems desired
