Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their life easier and save them money.
As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money. For everyone, everywhere.
More about our mission.
We’re looking for a PR manager (FTC 2 years) with experience in employer branding and product tech communications to spearhead Wise’s public relations in Estonia and in the region.
Working with a cross-office global team, you’ll help us grow and further build Wise’s profile, both from employer and product side locally.
You’ll do this by building a communications strategy that showcases and builds Wise’s employer profile, maximises our in-house news pipeline, highlights our product suite in a creative and innovative way, and delivers our corporate announcements in the press.
You’ll be comfortable handling complicated challenges when they come up, and working with journalists to ensure that Wise’s reputation is upheld. You’re not daunted by industry jargon or technical details and know how to dive into the product to understand the details, and then simplify them for your audiences.
You have a list of press contacts in tech, consumer and financial media. You’re proactive, creative and enjoy working in a fast-paced global team and organisation. You’ll be based in Tallinn and report into the EMEA PR Lead, based in London.
Key areas of focus for the role:
Owning Estonian Communications
You’ll embed yourself within the European cross-functional teams to own the news flow as our presence grows in the region.
You’ll build and drive the communications strategy for Wise in the region, working with your cross-functional partners across teams, including People team, Product and Marketing.
You’ll build up and work with local spokespeople as well as company leadership.
You’ll leverage the media relationships that already exist, and are able to add more.
Supporting Global Corporate Communications
You’ll develop communications strategies that build awareness of Wise’s products and Wise as an employer with influential national, business and tech media across the region, and handle issues when they arise.
You’ll proactively build and execute PR programs that build Wise’s employer awareness, reputation and drive product awareness - delivering substantial media coverage, meaningful speaking opportunities for our regional and global spokespeople, and creating new ways to help us make the media and public aware of the problem we’re solving and how.
What you’ll need:
Excellent written and spoken English. Estonian is a plus.
Strong, varied experience in communications. This could be in-house at a startup, tech company, or in an agency.
Ability to scrutinise complex and technical data and complex concepts and turn them into simple and compelling messages.
Innate understanding of what makes a good story for media and how to secure great quality media coverage 一 along with existing media relationships, and expertise in building new contacts.
Experience working with company leaders and building the profiles of key spokespeople through speaking engagements, profile interviews, opinion and byline submissions and proactive pitches.
Experience creating and delivering creative awareness-driving campaigns across media.
An ownership mindset with a hands-on, solutions and results driven approach.
Ability to work proactively, independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth company.
A genuine, enthusiastic interest in our mission and developing and communicating great ideas to make financial services fairer.
For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.
We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
