We’re looking for a Prudential Risk Senior Manager to join the 2nd Line Risk function (2LOD) You will be part of the Group Risk Management organisation, reporting into the Head of Prudential Risk and Stress Testing.
This role ensures we understand and can measure all material risks, and hold capital and liquidity accordingly. This includes:
(i) working across our business and markets to embed our prudential risk framework and operating model,
(ii) supporting the identification and quantification of material and emerging risks, and
(iii) using risk assessment techniques to inform enhancements in product features and the control environment, balancing capital and liquidity resilience with P&L optimisation, and enhancing our recovery and resolution plans in the event of adverse scenarios.
Your Mission:
Understand our full suite of products and services and apply their understanding of risk to the Wise business models and products (which is an EMI and investment firm)
Apply knowledge of prudential risk regimes to the Wise business models, products and markets, with experience across different regimes (e.g. ICAAP, ILAAP, ICARA) desirable
Coordinate a meaningful, data-driven prudential risk management and stress testing program across 1LOD and 2LOD, working collegiately with all stakeholders
Engage effectively with 1LOD risk owners, and confidently highlight assumptions that drive risk and challenge control effectiveness
- Develop new skills and ways of working - including through the adoption of new technologies (e.g. Artificial Intelligence) and the application of inherent curiosity and critical reasoning - to further enhance our risk management capabilities
What You'll Be Doing:
Implementing a data-driven and methodologically robust prudential risk management approach and stress testing program; including operating models that capture the effects between different risk types
Assessing data from multiple sources and leading scenario workshops with 1LOD risk owners to understand and quantify key harms - through the application of internal and regulatory requirements - to allocate capital and liquidity across products and legal entities
Assessing 1LOD prudential risk management activities to ensure risks and controls are appropriately managed, and developing an independent view of capital and liquidity adequacy (supported by Risk Analytics) to enable robust review and challenge
Leading our recovery and resolution planning process, ensuring that key risk indicators are in place, actions are appropriate, and that market and group permutations are appropriately considered
Combining risk management expertise with commercial awareness to solve complex real world challenges that support the Wise mission
What You'll Bring:
Understanding of prudential capital & liquidity requirements and prudential risk management regimes
Experience managing financial or non-financial risks in financial services firms, with exposure to payments businesses, electronic money institutions (EMIs), or asset management highly desirable
A progressive and pragmatic approach to risk management and proven track record of delivering results. Knowledge of industry best practices is essential
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a resilience and determination to succeed that enables you to form trusted relationships with a range of stakeholders
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills with a willingness to get into the details and get things done
